Senior Mining Planner -- Enshrine Placements   Job Details

Our client is one of the largest private investors in the country and have an aim of providing more job opportunities and economic stability throughout the country.

They currently have an opportunity for a Senior Mining Planner, responsible for the delivery of the mine plan, 5-year budget, life of mine and life of asset mine plan.

Job description / core competencies:

The Senior Mining planner is responsible for completing on time and within the established framework:

  • Budget physicals for the company and related contractors.
  • LOM plans including costing and financial evaluations, modelling and documentation.
  • Running optimizations and option scenarios as required for new and existing ore bodies.
  • Pit, dump and other infrastructure designs appropriate to suit the needs of the long term team.
  • Determine cut-off grades and carry out resource and reserve estimations.
  • Produce mine reconciliation reports tracking mine production, spatial compliance and mining costs.
  • Monitor actual and design pits to ensure achievement of design criteria.
  • Promote and assist with business improvement projects.
  • Ensure that environmental policies and strategies are incorporated into mining plans.
  • Ensure that the mine planning groups are providing the required level of service to mine operations and projects.
  • Perform tasks as required and assigned by the Technical Services Superintendent.

  • B.Sc in Mining Engineering
  • Sound knowledge of Earthmoving Equipment and open pit mining methods.
  • Experience in large multi pit operations utilizing large-scale mining equipment.


  • At least 3-5 years’ related work experience in a mining environment utilizing large scale mining equipment.

Skills / Attributes:

  • Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
  • Experience in mine planning, design and production.
  • Keep work place safe and tidy.
  • Must be familiar with maintenance systems and processes.
  • The capacity for using specific knowledge, tools, equipment to enhance performance.
  • Experience in managing costs and budgets.
  • Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas.
  • Perform tasks requiring movement, strength and perception.
  • Knowledge of Liberian customs.
  • Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems.
